Clinical indication

The B·R·A·H·M·S AFP KRYPTOR assay is an automated immunofluorescent assay for the quantitative determination of the concentration of alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) in human serum, plasma (heparin) and amniotic fluid.
B·R·A·H·M·S AFP KRYPTOR test is indicated to be used in conjunction with other laboratory findings and clinical data as an aid for non-invasive risk assessment of fetal trisomy 21 in the first trimester and of fetal trisomy 21 and 18 in the second trimester in pregnant women.
The B·R·A·H·M·S AFP KRYPTOR test is indicated as an aid to be used in conjunction with the clinical evaluation for non-invasive risk assessment of fetal neural tube defects in serum and plasma (heparin) and diagnosis of fetal neural tube defects in amniotic fluid in the second trimester in pregnant women.
